Messaging is broken. It’s all about to change. Apple shuts downs Advanced Data Protection in UK. Encryption isn’t enough anymore. What good is an encrypted network when the same company owns the key to your decrypted messages sitting in iCloud? This is when it all starts to shift. Many Local apps, a global secure & decentralized network.

It all comes down to who owns the 🔑 I’ll never forget when I was talking to an Exec at WhatsApp about Decentralized Messaging and the lightbulb went off and he responded “Im here saying WhatsApp is encrypted at the network level, yet we own and lock in the user on an app we own that decrypts your messages, you can’t leave, we know your identity and everything else about you, and we own the key to your encryption. Encryption isn’t enough if we really want privacy and security.” Encryption isn’t enough. That’s the message for 2025. Decentralization is required.

How do you feel about this platform being “sufficiently decentralized”?

Have you tried SimpleX? It uses the Tor network to relay messages between users. Privacy is unmatched, at a bit of user experience cost.
