membership channels have a lot of tradeoffs, but the big upside that i'm excited about is how much easier its going to be to run a large community.

As you’ve probably noticed, the channels rules have changed. It’s invite-only now.

On one hand, it’s a great way to clean things up and get rid of bots spamming copy-paste content or random AI images. A great way to make /masks a better place.
On the other hand… it’s a bit of a hassle for you since you’ll need an invite.

Just let us know here, and we’ll manually check them as we go, fam 🎭.

I'm assuming people were grandfathered in on the channels they were already subbed to.

While I understand the need to experiment with new ways to battle the bots, it seems severely limiting to channel owners.  How exactly do people request to join the channel?  Kind of inhibits the ability to explore the platform and find relatable content/communities.
