And what company or team would have invested so much money (and years) in the development of a client, based on the simple whitepaper that was Farcaster at the time? Apart from Farcaster themselves?

Warpcast is what brought Farcaster to the forefront, and attracted so many people.
Without Warpcast, Farcaster would have remained nothing more than a pretty dream.

Give the ecosystem time to mature. Nature will do the rest. And alternatives will grow
