Are memecoins good or bad? 

I think they sit somewhere in the triangle between buying pokemon cards and going to the casino and day trading. 

I don't personally don't do much of those things, but I understand the appeal and don't think we need to shame people who do it.

I figure it's like sports betting for a trending joke/idea and calling the pop-cultural top is winning. 

It's gambling, but it's not pure chance like a casino would be and it's not betting on teams or players or whatever. Screening for bundling and insiders would be a good idea, but once everyone knows the playing field is level it seems like hands are even more paper.

I don't like it personally but it's not like you can ban it.
