Last night our bird club successfully summoned the spirit of the northern flicker. We’re hoping this ups the species’ chance of reproducing in our 9-acre NYC park for a second year in a row.

I’m in NYC! In the wild east coast I’ve recently spotted: - the aforementioned hawk(?) - The brightest blue jays at my friends backyard in Long Island. - Big community of wild monk parakeets in Astoria. - cutest flirting between cardinals in CT Have you seen Birds of Paradise from Netflix’s Our Planet?

I have seen! It’s banaynays. You sound bird curious. I must try to push you over the ledge. NYC is about to have many “exotic” birds passing through, late April to early June — for spring migration. Many are small but some like Scarlet Tanagers and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are facemelters viewable by naked eye

Push me out of the nest 🪺 haha I would love to see both but especially a scarlet tanager. I will try to remember and add it to the list of animals I look out for Have you seen brooklyn 99 and the scenes with captain holt and bird watching? That’s how I imagine I’d look like if I crossed over to the bird side

What? no!! I’ve watched much of that series but not all. Investigating rn! Every Saturday at 9 in Greenpoint we do walks that feature non-birder types. Meaning WHEN NOT IF you go deep on birds you can stay cool/closeted (though u should defo live out loud and proud 🦢)

Give me a second I’ll find the link/episode for you! Non birder as in animals? I have a running mental list of lost animals in my area in case I spot any lost pets. I know the names humans have given to the local outdoor cats (fat mama is one), strays, and the dogs! Some folks call me Kami’s mommy (my cat) haha
