A whole client could be built around dms (if those ever get protocolized). It’s a power tool for work.

i do wonder though if a messaging app that has a unique network out of the box (farc) would make sense since there’s 0 chance im going to get the all (or even most) folks in my dms interchanging phone numbers / usernames so that we can chat elsewhere.

i understand why messaging as a non-first class citizen feature makes 0 sense on eg a wallet app. as well as why you don't want to compete w imessage/whatsapp. but it's also true that both the network here + the underlying rails (crypt) prob enable totally diff products long term. (eg warp vs tw)

And with crypto integration — yes I can use paybot etc but what if I don’t want to broadcast it? Or to send to all in a group dc? I’m sure there’s tons of applications along those lines.
