Any tips on how I can resurrect and re-season a cast iron pan? Tried avocado oil in the oven but didn’t seem to do anything

A lot of good advice here on glazing but you need to strip off the top layer first. Bake it in the oven for a few hours at 400+ degrees and scrape off the gunk when the pan is cooler. Don't worry about scratching because you will reseason it again. I like grapeseed oil because it has a high smoke point. Let us know how you do
