@sayangel is this functioning properly? Is there a check limit now/prompt to pay? My personal $0.02 is you are free to do so and deserve to be compensated… but in my mind @botornot serves you better remaining a public utility. Trust me, people don’t forget the value/entertainment you provide.

I totally hear ya but it’s just not sustainable for me to fund personally. See cast below about why I did this. I believe that, and hope you know that wasn’t a criticism.. you absolutely deserve compensation. I’m just brainstorming whether we might think of another route to effectively generate revenue. Need to marinate on that a bit… maybe channels could leverage the bot as a policing mechanism and contribute a retainer.

i totally understand. wasn't taken offensively in any way. I think the direction I'm going to ultimately head in is relying less on the definitive bot or notness (that's a v tough problem) and more on quickly surfacing summaries for people to decide if that's what they jive with or not.

Like any good product endeavor this has been a fun experiment in seeing how and for who it's valuable. It's become painfully obvious since paywall that the things that do best around here these days are the ones that print people money. If it doesn't have to do with tipping or farming the interest seems weak.
