Excited about the growth Farcaster/Warpcast is seeing, but my feed quality has gone way done. Used to be a lot more thoughtful discussion. Now it’s largely the degen aspects of crypto twitter (nft mints, airdrops, etc) just amplified. Know this will improve over time w/ algo, but some of it is cultural 🫡

Agreed, but I think this can be solved by allowing for more granular control of channel access. Token gate channels Invite only channels Minimum activity channels Minimum word count posts Post cooldown times I can think of a few more, but having a space for longform ideas from a quality audience would go a long way

I think most of these are channel controls, which certain hosts may or may not want. Warpcast the client will eventually do a lot of the lifting here to identify spam, low effort posters/accounts, and what content types to prioritize, etc. See the active user badge.

I’d be wary of top down changes as it’ll likely lead to the same problems Twitter has where content always skews towards the algorithm meta If channel owners had a suite of tools they could use to shape how conversations happen, then the protocol would have a ton of experiments running towards quality engagement

i wouldn't say 'uniquely'. urbit has this as well, although more oriented towards the 'who is the host' element via group chats, rather than a general massive feed interface. but the opportunity for exit is pleasant to be sure.
