Am I correct that Supercast notifications are separate from Warpcast (and any other client)? Meaning, clearing notifs on Supercast will leave them unread on Warpcast?

Is this always going to be the case?

yes, this will always be the case unless clients when generating the notification feed won't include stuff you already reacted too in the # unreads for example

or notifications become a protocol level thing (unlikely). Why would one want to do the effort of generating notifications on protocol

I assume by clearing you mean clicking it and removing the red dot?
