"Kubernetes is for big companies only" - shut up. team of 5 can do it. They seem great judging from their API docs + Hiring page. Would work there. https://www.workatastartup.com/companies/recall-ai

at my last shop, we were running Kubernetes when we only had 3 engineers (including myself). infra automation works at any scale and we couldn’t have built what we built without it

I ran a large cluster supporting about 40k DAU’s and about 200 services with just me and one other engineer. Vanilla kubernetes can go a pretty long way. I think big companies try to over do it with complexity.

We were an entirely k8s shop at BisonTrails well before I joined, less than 11 people. Scaled up until acquisition by @coinbase. Still using that stack. But must have a reason for the added complexity. In Recall.ai's case it makes sense.

Kubernetes works fine at any team size. Been running my cluster for 8 years without any issues. Infrastructure automation is a must, and is a huge productivity enhancement.
