at my last shop, we were running Kubernetes when we only had 3 engineers (including myself). infra automation works at any scale and we couldn’t have built what we built without it

working on infra to displace adtech at /microsub • dance music lover + host of /campfire 🎧

we used Balena.io to manage the remote gateway devices, then fully custom software for the edge nodes

backend on AWS and Kubernetes for almost everything but a managed db and S3 for storage 

we also had a custom algo we built to allocate the cheapest possible EC2 instances for some giant background jobs…those just used AMIs directly

Love hearing that it worked well for you! you had IOT devices there right? so you're handling all the jobs with it?
