Slack was founded in 2013 as a messaging service for the workplace — when the majority of the workforce was IRL. Outside of Slack Connect and Huddles, what unique features have they shipped since the workforce shifted to URL? Slack is misused more frequently than it is used correctly... and imo Slack is to blame.

Slack connect has been really great for customer feedback and working with individual vendors for us! I love the ability to hide notifications within certain days and times too :) wish I could have that for gmail

agree on Slack Connect being huge value add, which is why i excluded it. were you always remote or hybrid? my suspicion is that Slack simply set a baseline for remote work, instead of meaningfully improving it.

My first three years of work was fully in office, and I’ve been fully remote since the last three years. I think businesses could use imessage if they didn’t need all the bells and whistles - but I feel as though notification control by itself is enough for me to say it’s meaningful!
