I wrote a 9-page guide on how to negotiate your salary: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RkyqijoSb6ZKfhCeKkxnQMJ7XkXqY8k8kgw6tFNLKgg/edit For founders: I write about negotiating, which you can use for anything. For job seekers: I provide resources, links, and sentences you can use during salary negotiation.

This is great. Top effort for taking the time to lay it all out clearly for us.

I was looking at other salary resources and they’re much more high level (which is good for SEO) but not so great for pragmatically understand negotiating :)

You’re not wrong. If you care for another scenario, how about bonus structuring for consultant project managers who’ll be paid less than the engineers they recruit…? Asking for a friend. 😅

Why not bonuses based on metric or task completion? Also, don’t compare engineers to a different job, it’s apples to oranges

Ah, well that’d be the plan. To the second point, ofc, but still seems a bit strange that the one with overall responsibility for strategy and delivery be compensated less. No CEO role but some similarities. That daft of me? Apples and oranges, as you say.
