Interesting. What are the features of a “main character” theory of reality? Most people seem to live from first person perspective. A big step in many meditative practices is to step out of that. In a true verifiable sense, everything you experience IS you.

so much philosophy approaches subjects relevant to "main character" syndrome epistemology (theory of knowledge) metaphysics (study of reality or existence) philosophy of science, semantics Nietzsche's "The Birth of Tragedy" is a good text to get at some of the core ideas related to the nihilism and pessimism
