There's only one strategic "thesis" this decade: 'gaming kids grew up and started making products' 👾 🗺️ 💬

There is a special corner (or square) in hell for VC firms that forward my fundraising email to one of their failing portfolio companies and ask them to ditch their failing product and replicate Mauvi immediately (as described in my pitch email)

I probably need a life that doesn't involve falling asleep at a computer desk at 02:00am 😵‍💫 but there is also no other job that I'd rather be doing Let's see if 4 cups of coffee will help me get through the day ☕

It's insane how some places blast loud music in a space that's more suitable for work. Am I just too sensitive? People don't seem to be really bothered

Insane how some people have exceptional ability to just...fool themselves and hypothesize about it along the way. Abandoning 'Statistics' both literally and metaphorically and choosing instead to stitch random anecdotes to find blog post materials It's a fatal mistake to take their advice regarding pretty much any important life decision, or even trivial decisions. When someone couldn't bother to see any task through, no meaningful accomplishments to show after a decade of dropping out and quitting projects. No proper degree or career record, a project that has been dragging for half a decade (which usually people do on the side - isn't everyone writing a book btw? I might be writing a book too, predictable right?) Despite all of that, certain type of people shamelessly impose their life-ruining advice on others. Just ignore them or you too will end up with no accomplishments or relationships

What are the significant years in the history of New York City during the 18th and 19th centuries? Stumbled across a 'rare books and maps' store where I found a map of NYC drawn in 1849 so I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money 🗺️ 📍 🗽

The atrocity - can't they remain beautiful Georgian buildings?? You cannot possibly convince me to move to this city. Stepped out the other day only to see this horror on the streets of Bloomsbury, London. One of the oldest 18th-century Georgian houses are being transformed into a hot-desk remote workspace thingy. In this borough, Virginia Woolf and many other literary figures once lived and established their legacy. Now, someone wants to turn it into a co-working thing where people make slides Not everyone has proper urban development skills

Glad I posted my 'self-love' breakfast because the next day I spent 15 minutes on Uber Eats and added not only one but two different orders to my cart, a chipotle burrito and 'The Real Greek' soulvaki only to fall asleep next to my laptop before getting to eat anything 😔 And that was the least messy thing that happened in the last 48 hours

I am not trying to make a point about the necessity of going to a university to do well in life. Quite the opposite, if the field is fast-moving or practical experience matters more like in most technical jobs, you do as well as your determination allows you. But the main point here is there are some western countries that factor in having a degree into their hiring decisions. So forcing students to go through vocational programs then spend years trying to figure out a different path only to reach a mid-level career at almost 40 years old isn’t competitive. That system was set up during the industrial era, more suitable for a mechanic working at a satellite factory, not so much for a semi-technical career at the company that operates satellites 📡 My sincere wish is that promising students aren’t held back and this educational system can be adjusted to suit more flexible demanding jobs 🙏🏽

When I started working I met people in professional settings who I assumed were my age because we were in early-career roles or about to graduate. Then I’d be shocked to know that the now Berlin-based mid-level PM is already 37 years old !!! A weird function of the German school system is that it used to be a 13-year educational system so students graduate from high school at 19 years old. This system was phased out iirc in 2013 because it wasn’t competitive globally. Also, most of my postgrad classmates (1/3 of the class was Germans) took a gap year and travelled 🧳 in 🇦🇺/ 🇳🇿 So they practically went to university at 20/21 years old. Then I was surprised to learn that the German school system pretty much decides who gets to enroll in college during 4th grade and all the other kids are sent to middle schools on a vocational training path. Obviously there are many systemic biases here.

Was strolling around yesterday and found this hidden gem, a bookstore that specializes in selling rare books, most likely a copy of the first edition of world-renowned classics. A rare copy of the first illustrated ‘Pride & Prejudice’ costs 4750 £ only. I’m not “investing” in rare books now - there are other life priorities, but it’s good to know that a copy of Darwin’s The origin of species (1896 edition) is well and alive out there

Schrödinger’s cat, but the experiment is about an American airport-hopping cat that yearns to be somewhere and simultaneously books flights to completely different destinations 😿😔 living in a multiuniverse for real! We need a higher level of certainty about the cat’s location 🥺

Worked today from a business center at a hotel in London, that has been blasting loud music since late afternoon. Why did we all collectively decide that we can’t have quiet places outside residential buildings - not even quiet work spaces?!! I listen to music to get into the right headspace, but having to tune out the noise is like an extra 20% brain battery usage.

Headed out really early today at 07:00am and passed by a large office building that was taking down its Christmas decorations and loading plain Christmas trees to a truck. Jesus hasn't arrived yet, but the corporate lords closed their financial books for the year so why bother with any hint of manufactured employee happiness? Anyway, happy pre-Christmas Monday to all who are still working today 💝
