Noboribetsu Onsen is the northernmost large scale Onsen resort in Japan. It’s famous not only for its abundance hot springs, but also because it has nine different types of Onsen water! As of this trip, I’ve bathed in all 9! It took me 1 public bath and 3 hotels to accomplish this! The town is protected by great demons. Legend says they live in Hell’s Valley, which is the source for all the hot spring water in the town!

It’s wonderful. The waters are amazing and I always feel fantastic when I’m there. Even with the crazy sulfur smell all over.
