cypto is cypherpunk unless god forbid there is a little pressure from a strongman leader and everyone starts acting like a looney tunes coyote chasing a bag

come back of 70s style indie movies winning Oscars - both Anora and Brutalist which won the big awards are relatively small budget films with few special effects, small crew, relatively unknown directors

they did not move the plot forward much with this episode, just doubled down on everything that happened in episode one

The covid memory hole phenomenon needs to be studied more. For example I recently learnt that Bryan Johnson had covid and lost 15% of his lung capacity but its not something anyone asks him about nor does he have a "blueprint" for gaining lung capacity back even though that might actually be one thing that can extend life meaningfully. I've read a couple of studies about effect of traumatic events on memory in individuals but yet to read something on mass traumatic events and memory.

a newsletter can be a form of epistemic arbitrage: bridging cultural lag (cognitive), making sense of shifts before they settle (temporal), sharpening our senses before the world catches up (perceptual). @keikreutler's writing always maps and creates with exquisite clarity and depth. you sometimes feel it before you understand it, like some of the best art.
