Re: dedegen and my position on the mod squad Dear @jacek, In season 6, you rolled out a new system you hadn't quite properly thought through. Last minute, you caved to the biggest whales. You told users to lock up their precious degen and receive an allowance to do what they want with. So they did. They opened up channels for "tip-for-tip" and "401k matching" (which you condoned). You misaligned incentives with the site's most active users, and now degen is being exploited by the people you bent the knee to. NOW, you have appointed a select group of people to clean up this mess with subjective standards and burdened us with the responsibility of deciding "what's right." If you want to unlock people's money and change the rules, fine. But I won't be a part of this. Sincerely, Burr

The fight against farmers is the #1 reason that degen has suffered so much and why we are where we are with it imo I still believe they should quit that fight (not winnable) and roll things back to the previous season just even as a start

Every social platform has content moderation, including the Warpcaster client. We’re just making sure that moderation is done out in the open where everyone can see it. Sorry you feel that way, but we couldn’t be prouder of this new season. It’s a major win.

I've been a degen supporter since day one (including losing millions of degen in LPs so there would be liquidity in the crucial early days, but I can't comprehend how this season could be considered a win. With tipping allocation being the only reward for locking, the exact behaviors we're trying to prevent are being incentivized! Why would anyone other than the most fervent supporters risk huge financial losses with the only reward being more tips?!? And five moderators have to flag a bad cast that won't even show up on most of their feeds? What is going on here?!?

Agree with the first half. That said, beware the levers available. The relationship between staking and derived allowances has not been iterated /at all/ -- Jacek is still on v0.1 for that. Besides that the answer is: Yes, only the most fervent supporters should take the risk. And only those supporters understand the context well-enough to assess risk properly (ie, the culture of change, how Jacek works, how changes are or aren't telegraphed, and where to find actual alfa wrt degen). There's a lot of weigh and much of it is unsaid or understated (but still true). Confused by the second half and general intensity of the response, so I'll leave that stuff alone.

There is a Dune dashboard to see what's been flagged by other mods, and there is a channel for anyone in the community to flag what they think could be a bad behavior. That being said, yeah, I tend to agree that there should be a 50/50 in the staking model: get rewarded for locking + get a tip allocation. Somehow would make more sense. Would be even better if you could select the ratio (10% rewards/90% tips - 20/80 - 30/70, etc. up to 50/50).

I wonder how mods were chosen? 😅 20 mods (or even 100) can’t handle hundreds thousand degenians. It’s the fact. Sometimes, they got bias as well. We need a better system/ or a better rule, which should be automatic. I proposed tax and maximum-a-cast-can-earn based on SCV and bot-or-not engagement. But @jacek never take a look. Honestly, i disappointed this season

Agree that lockers will need more incentive in the future. Right now locking should attract only hardcore community + app builders/channel hosts that want to benefit + farmers. 1️⃣I care about the community aligning around the core value prop. I believe we can achieve this with modding and discussion around behavior we want to kill or incentivize. 2️⃣Achieving this basic common understanding, we get a more sound $degen token again and can grow the $Degen economy with tips. 3️⃣As investor, one might then decide to do native staking (if there are extra incentives) but I hope we’ll attract more apps and more staking / return opportunities. https://warpcast.com/juli/0x75a560a7
