That's crazy that a dentist would be unhappier than someone working in a diamond mine or a slaughterhouse. I'm guessing there are a lot of jobs that aren't included in the dataset.

Imagine going to medical school to study a large body of knowledge only to have your day-to-day practice be cavity fillings, routine cleanings, and the occasional root canal or wisdom teeth removal. At least that’s what I imagine, and it sounds painfully understimulating.

I'm sure artisanal cobalt mines are actually profoundly unhappier than most jobs, but there's no way to sample sentiment, the method may have unaccounted bias, and "more sunlight" is debatably stated/revealed preference. ngl, we just do the best with what we have.
