In Rome for the first time. And, randomly ran into this statue of Giordono Bruno in Campo de’ Fiori. ChatGPT tells me that he was burnt to death in 1600 for his “controversial” views, including his belief in an infinite universe with countless inhabited worlds. 😳

Fun fact is that the statue faces the direction toward the Vatican, Giordano Bruno’s former prosecutors.

TIL. It is a *fun* fact. Really dig subversions like that. I also only recently learnt that many Catholic Churches around the world point towards the Vatican as a mark of respect.
