thank you and yes that’s absolutely not uncommon. keep in mind that farcaster/warpcast is around for some time and saw some immense growth in a short time recently. so there are likely high profile early users that are maybe even excepted from the algo having kind of a grandfathered badge because of their standing.

Nice insight, i think you’re mostly correct.

Feels like powerbadge users have some kind of a social value score attached to their interactions, eg. There are new accounts with little to no posts that have powerbadge because Dan follows them vs other smaller accounts who don’t

thank you. yes the system for sure isn’t perfect. I‘m not sure but I‘d think they may have a certain limit of power badges per week. Unfortunately even great content/users may not make the cut. Or content that is extremely bubbled, like in a small tight group as it often happens with artists.

Love the content, useful, informative and learned something today. Thank you. But i am more worried about people who lost it. And i am in artist circle, 99% of them don't use canons or giveaways but still lost hard earned badge. On other hand some completely inactive folks still have it, pretty uneven criteria

hey. thanks appreciate it. well no one knows how the system works but its stated to be a dynamic one that uses heuristics on top of labeling so it would be weird to only value your pb followers. there are high profile users with quite a large pb following who either lost their badge or don’t have one.

One question. I had trouble knowing which part is fact and which is your interpretation. Is it certain that any activity other than follows is accounted for positively?

Any idea what happened earlier this week? Monday night, 100s of new people had power badges only for them to disappear a few hours later. 

Seemed to me like someone mistakenly updated a parameter that went haywire.
