I am seeing a variety of left leaning people make this argument. 

I think it will come off as disingenuous to say that the culture war stuff doesn’t matter now when these issues were treated as life or death for the last ~15 years

Big picture, I agree. But you have had a lot of people objecting to these changes over the past 15 years, now that they’re in place they’re going to call BS when the same people making those changes are now saying we should move on. They’re going to want to go back and fix what was changed.

I’ve been seeing this from other people that definitely did not think these things were distractions at the time, ranging from fairly important to life or death.

I disagree that they were treated as life or death maybe by some and by msm but I don’t think it was what the majority cared about. It was always a distraction
