Seems like the article brings up points that apply to any âstateâ seeking sovereign control of territory â but not all Network States necessarily have that goal?

Hey, good question. Balaji's definition of a network state includes (eventual) control over territory and diplomatic recognition of that territory. "that crowdfunds territory around the world and eventually gains diplomatic recognition from pre-existing states." So if a network state doesn't seek sovereign control over territory it isn't really a "Network State"
