I think people should be able to see how many others are blocking, muting, ghosting them - and what topics they are engaging with are forcefully ignored. Knowing how many people are voluntarily there and how many people walk out are important signals to get a stronger sense of reality and approval.

I think showing who is muting who would lead to less individual freedom overall. People with less power would be afraid to mute people with more power. Seeing muted topics would be cool and model interest in topics instead of power dynamics.

I agree we shouldn’t make identities public. But counts of “avoidance” I think are very valuable signals. In our physical world, these signs are everywhere (people shifting eyes, body language of awkwardness or discomfort, etc.) we should have the equivalent digitally I think.
