Hey @vitalik.eth I think a lot of people would love to hear in your rationale to give $600m in memecoins to the AI safety focused Future of Life Institute. As we've polarized into "e/acc vs. decel" some interpreted this as you coming in on the AI Safety side...i'm sure there's more nuance here?

To be fair here, I haven't done the math, but the liquidity is probably shallow enough on those memecoins that the foundation would be lucky to get a million out of them. To frame it as an actual 2/3 billion dollar donation is a bit disingenuous.

Isnβt vitalikβs p(doom) > 5% even with his recent downgrading? That warrants 100% going to ai safety. Ignoring how confused and contradictory e/acc and specifically bezos is, sending a dime to e/acc would only increase p(doom).

BeffJezos is really going full blown tribal and hyperbolic based on this post and also the reaction to Liv Boreer on X recently. He couldn't unite anything w/ his current tone and stance.

Ethereum raised $18M in its ICO, does Vitalik expect the work of this organisation to be as effective as 33 Ethereums? Comes across as extremely heavy handed and clumsy application of capital to me.
