Seeing lots of people on Twitter dunk on this new law in Australia preventing children under 16 from using social media. 

What do you think?

I think it’s a great idea in theory but I’m worried about the execution and enforcement - will all social sites now require KYC?

The goal posts will move into new services that blur the line, refuse to operate by the AUS rules because they are domiciled elsewhere or will be grass roots as a form of rebellion. 

It's naive to think they can put the genie back in the bottle and this will do nothing to curb the use just like media piracy and the crackdown on it in the 00s.
