Nimman is the most popular town within Chiang Mai (CM) amongst nomads. Advantages - Anything and anywhere is within 10-20 min walking - Literally countless cafes with great atmosphere - Affordable, healthy, delicious food from around the world - A handful of coworking spaces with people from around the world working on all types of things. This week in my coworking space I met friends from Portland, Chicago, Colombia, Israel, Australia, England, Romania, etc. - There's the largest supply of hotels and fully furnished apartments (Called serviced apartments) depending on your length of stay - It's cheaper to stay in a nice serviced apartment per month ~$450 for September compared to most good 3-star hotels that can easily be double - The best advice I received before hand is if you plan to stay in an apartment is to stay in a hotel for a week and visit a few apartments in person. For most places this is the only way since the norm is to pre-pay in cash.

Thank you! 🤗Very helpful. Edge City Lanna is 20 min car ride from there (it’s close to the river, Where the yellow star on the right on your map is.) Do you think it’s worth staying in Nimman & going to the other side quite often? How is it close to the river?

TLDR – If you're doing /edgecity I think it's worth it to live within walking distance Because I'll be a part of Edge City I decided to move to the Ping River area for October and optimize for my daily routine, being able to walk to the coworking space, food, gym, and many other events within 5-10 min. In August I lived 10 min away from my coworking space in Nimman and observed that just a 5 min walk decrease in September has increased my happiness and being able to quickly go back and forth to do more daily activities. Nimman will have Megazu [1], Invisible Garden [2], and Funding the Commons [3] in October so if you're not doing Edge City it makes sense to be in Nimman.
