no - this is not a dig at anyone. 

i just found it applicable to dao voting as i've seen it in nouns over the years

we're making vc style bets in a much lower signal way and there is literally zero tangible return to the dao for 95% of them. driving attention back to auctions does not work yet and im doubtful it will ever work with the current structure of the DAO

what can we do differently? vc type bets with no direct value accrual to nouns outside of marketing won't make nouns sustainable.

largely agree w this in context of nouns

it was one of my fundamental ideas when i began voting, at its also why the camp proposal (463) is not going into needless details -- the vote should be "do you believe in this team based on merits so far or not"

altho over the years ive become less convinced this will ever work for nouns, and the solution is not to make the mistake PG points out, but perhaps to not fund those types of swiss cheese execution risk proposals at all

another potential takeway is that nouns is just doomed but im not yet sure thats a given
