I have had a therapist for 12 years now. She has been fundamental to my life and idk what I’d do without her. I did my degree in psych, so feel free to dm if you have any questions accessing therapy, about therapists, types of therapy etc! telegram.me/samantha_chai

do you know of any realistic options for those without health insurance? my brother recently graduated college and he's slugging it out as a starving artist (will probably wait tables or bartend on the side)

Yes. In order to become a therapist, you have to complete a few hundred hours of clinical experience. So grad students can offer therapy for about $20-$30hr from your local university. If he cannot pay at all, he should get in touch with the cities’ LGBTQ+ centers or planned parenthood which can offer it for free.

A note on PP and LGBTQ+ centers: he doesn’t have to be queer or a woman to access these services, the point is that they’re accessible to everyone. He will probably get referred to drop in counselling, which can be very helpful for those with changing schedules!

If you DM me which city he is located in, I can help to find him some resources.
