I'm a wallpaper maxi here who recently came across Sian Zeng - she's an artist who hand-paints her wallpaper designs and perfectly combines her background to mix Asian and European influences perfectly.

a really great 'hack' to make it seem less empty would be to paint it with a warm color - my sister's hallway also looks like this and she painted it a color similar to this:
