FID vs. OpenRank "Engagement" Ranking: - https://dune.com/queries/3901607 - *ridiculously heavily* skewed towards the earliest users of Farcast - Why? Because the algorithm starts off by selecting a trusted group of core users based on metrics heavily biased in favor of early users (see https://docs.openrank.com/integrations/farcaster/ranking-strategies-on-farcaster). - early users receive multiple boosts to engagement due to similar algorithms being used everywhere (e.g. Power Badge, Degen Tips), which results in a positive feedback loop. FID vs. Follower Count: - https://dune.com/queries/3901623/6557858 - nearly impossible for users who registered after a certain point to create the mega followings of the earliest users Why not use first cast or registration date? Dune's Neynar data doesn't have this <= 2023-09. If anybody has an alternative data source I can use on Dune, it would be much appreciated. Next: I investigate the degree of cliquiness in early users, if anybody is interested?

1- is there a good ratio for following/follower? and what ratios are considered bad ones? 2- Also as a normal account registered on feb 2024, a lot of the first follower were banned later and lost their powerbadge, does this affect my account now? 3- if i go to followers on mobile app i will find a group of account that didn't interact with since a while, it is better to unfollow? sorry for lot of questions and appreciate your reply

1 - Degen Tips has a ratio where you get considered a spammer, but I'm not going to publish it here in case it gets revived; I don't know if WC has something in their algos 2 - No idea, PB is classified Top Secret 3 - No idea, WC is closed source

A while ago someone tagged me in a cast to bring attention to some very new users, following nobody, having like 90 followers, no casts, and still with a power badge No idea what it means tho

Most of the time you'll see those users are followed by dwr or v, but in rare cases no explanation has been found

If they keep PB around after this week (they're doing an experiment to disable it) I'm going to dig into it

I think it must be an algo error simply tbh I checked them on dune, no unfollowers, no deleted cast, literally account made and 1 or 2 likes made sometimes or none at all, and followed a bunch of people Wait this makes me realize, it might be in the following

But what could the algorithm look like to make such an error...

true, I know when power badge was released we were told that you got power badges by getting interactions from other power badge holders We also know people lose power badge if they stop getting interactions from power badge users Just a random hypothesis, but possibly there could be some kind of invisible elo score that automaticly goes down, and interactions from power badge users push it up? And maybe it only starts counting after a few casts, somehow causing these accs to stay above the necesarry limit without dropping Just one of many posibilities
