The overall vs. tail-end of this distribution shows that PB & OpenRank are similar in implementation but not the same .... PB seems to reward some non-high-engagement users. Also interesting that there are ~150 people in the top 1k of OpenRank who don't have PB.

There is a running theory amongst my kin that the PB algo runs on connections, namely ranked PB user followings. Without naming names, there is an account with 1 cast from 1 day ago, but was awarded PB. Their following however is a high proportionate of PB users. Rather than volume, its percentage share. Poss gaming?

Yes, and as such our theory ends as just that, a theory. Until such a time that details come to light. I guess we sit and wait, and let the detectives do what they do best 😙
