the man, the myth, the legend Peter Thiel, on the election: “my one contrarian view is that the election is not going to be close; both are lose lose situations so there will be buyers remorse and that’s pretty unmotivating if it is close, Kamala will win because they will cheat” oh shit

“AI feels uncomfortably close to 1999 so we’re not investing that much into it.” 👀👀

Makes no sense to me. There were real 0-to-1 unicorns through the .com bubble that are dominating today.

Yes but how do you see them ahead of time? If even Founders Fund can’t maybe it’s not so simple.

Agreed it's not easy but isn't that a different argument from saying it's a bubble? Or perhaps I misunderstood the original statement...

I think Thiel would say the expected value betting on the index of AI cos is terrible and that even the great AI cos are scarily priced in terms of risk reward.

"I don't know how to pick 'em, and there's too much volatility in an index, so I'm staying out" - I think that's perfectly valid. I guess I misinterpreted the original statement, in that case, as saying "AI is a bubble of worthless companies" (dumb stuff like buying zip2 for $307 million)
