Do you ever end up sorting, or do you just have the intention to do so? (not a judgement, just curious)

I start, then I get bored, and I never follow the process again .... until I come up with a great new way to tidy things up, and I start .... then I get bored, and I never follow it again

It's a vicious cycle. I don't usually recommend Adobe products, but I found Adobe Bridge allowed for me to make the biggest dent in folder clutter. Maybe they've changed this, but as of a few years ago it was still free and void of any subscription commitment.

I think it's a brain issue. Diagnosed with autism 1.5 years ago. Once I figure out the 'rules' for something I get bored. Same reason I can't play computer games anymore.

Is the key to have something that has rules which are always changing?

I'm drawn to finding patterns and order, but quickly get bored once I do. Wonder if I'm ADHD TBH...

I think most people are somewhere on that spectrum. Like yourself, I'm fascinated by patterns and connecting dots. My boredom depends on the complexity of the pattern, but the ones that I can't stop thinking about are the ones that are usually worth pursuing. What did getting diagnosed do for you outside of maybe confirming your initial suspicions?

Biggest thing was realising that I'd spend 3/4 my life trying to fit in when I didn't have a problem. That allowed me to start exploiting my differences rather than hide them.
