@hyle suggested I post this here: I did an extreme deep dive into the DEGEN Tips allowance algorithm, and wrote up an FAQ. There's even a simulation on Desmos with all the equations loaded. Some surprises: you can overtip 3%, there's an age boost, cast count matters! https://paragraph.xyz/@rjs/degen-tips-ultimate-faq

did you find that there is an issue where the posts are grouped by the day someone liked them, instead of the day posts are made? So when someone likes your old post, it surfaces it as a new post with 1 like? I think that is what's happening...

It seems intentional. It doesn’t count likes per cast. It’s just reactions from unique users per day Based on reaction date, not original cast date, as you realized

As far as I can tell, it doesn't distinguish between users -- it only considers reactions (likes + recasts) performed in the 7 days preceding

Check out this line defining reaction counts -- it's a "count distinct" of fids

It would be nice if it grouped the casts by date first. Instead of cast and reaction date So a person throwing 1 like on an old post didn’t surface the old one as a post with a single like
