I switched from google docs to notion and now everything is more organized because the time I would have spent writing disorganized docs, I now spend waiting for notion to work

this isn't about note taking apps, more about company collaboration software. does obsidian do that? my note taking app is just Apple Notes

Hmm, not really. I haven’t met anyone who uses it for their company, it’s much more geared for personal use

but, markdown >>>>>> also, I’ve noticed that I do not enjoy typing on my phone. I much prefer a laptop / desktop.

Apple Notes works on desktop agree markdown would be great. for personal notes, the thing that matters most to me is how quickly can I note something down (I can always go back refine it later) and nothing beats Apple Notes on just being able to start writing immediately

Notion does use Markdown! Also, they have a quick entry widget on Android, with one on the way for iOS. But there’s a 3rd party app for quick entry into Notion for iOS that currently exists: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1639385303?pt=118443195&ct=newsletter&mt=8&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

convenience beats all I guess. to your point about speed, I write all my dreams in notes, lest I forget them. I think I value organization, not just folders but links between things — easily Obsidian’s best feature
