Apparently I was living under a rock yesterday and didnt realize @base had some content coin related drama. I did wonder why some casts on my feed were referring to content coins suddenly lol It was weird to see people on Twitter mark this as a rug pull?! At worst, this seems like an experiment base will learn from. Best case, they are building a future we don't yet understand, same as when Coinbase was talking about Bitcoin and everyone thought its only use was money laundering. @jessepollak means what he says. Have worked with him closely and he has the best at heart for the ecosystem and folks building. @coinbase attracts people who are honest and long term believers in this space. Jesse is a great example. Ofc losing money sucks and we'll see if the content coins experiment plays out. I am generally a believer in things moving onchain but I don't understand creator needs deeply enough to have a strong pov yet. Either way, Base will live and learn.

Hard to keep up with the drama... Anyway, I think trying to reward creators is a noble cause, but it's also super difficult to do without people gaining it, I've seen so many projects like this fail. I don't know if is the future or not, I tend to think is not due to my pessimistic nature. What I can say I don't like at all is the marketing of these systems as revolutionary, when they are half a decade old, all these kinds of projects have been tried years ago, and whenever a new one appears it acts as if it's a new concept when it's really not, I know it's all marketing but still.

I think it’s fair to criticize execution. But calling it a rug is disingenuous. If people can’t tell the difference between an experiment and a scam, we’re setting a dangerous precedent for future innovation. Let's be critical, sure, but let’s also be honest about intent.
