Less about MacOS (Raycast is the closest equivalent, I have it set to cmd + space) and more re: work apps. Trend I think Slack started and is now used across the board (Notion, Cron, Superhuman, etc.). It essentially a command palette that lets you search & control the app from keyboard w/o remembering shortcuts
