how is it september already (╥_╥) i wasn't sure if i was going to return to printout after the summer. but right as i started my august break, zora decided for me and changed the platform. now i can't continue it the way i had been doing it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i guess that means the full size of printout is officially 24 pages (⌒_⌒;) u can look at the whole thing in this frame (or just click through to @gallery if it loads too slowly)! maybe i'll think of a new series to do. i don't know what form it will take but i do miss the routine of making more original content in /vip to balance out all the things shared from around the internet. don't know when i'll start something else. i didn't actually get a real break due to life complications. in the meantime i'll just keep writing about my homepage progress https://gallery.so/elle/galleries/2dQEHvQdpZcprIgV5teeisk1j8m

oh wow. this is such a legendary collection tbh, i love them so much. what about the changes zora made has affected your continuation? is it that the contracts changed? regardless, i’m enjoying your site updates and everything you post. hopefully you do get to take a real break soon. <3

i haven't had a real chance to test the new contract yet. i tried to on testnet but the testnet frontend wouldn't let me connect. so i'm judging based on secondhand information (⌒_⌒;) basically i'm not sure if i'm able to have no duration on the pieces as the new contract/system seems to be geared towards time pressure minting and secondary flipping which is something i hoped we moved passed after the nft bubble. this paradigm didn't really attract sustainable connections or healthy interest in the work itself the first time around ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the timing thing is weird to me bc it kind of encourages mindless content churn like we had when there were endless 10k "adjective animal" collections coming out to the point where ppl were just buying fivver pictures. i might write a longer essay about this once the thoughts crystallize more

Wait whaaat I thought the big launch for Zora was intended to remove time pressure by allowing secondary markets to buy/sell new mints over a bonding curve. That’s disappointing if it’s only doubling down on the mint time pressure.

from what i can tell without being able to test it yet is that it rushes the minting. once it crosses 200 mints, it counts down 24hrs to secondary. that's if there is any secondary interest at all – for some works there could be no "liquid" with 200 editions locked with satisfied collectors. which means no one new will be able to become a collector of that piece later ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i suppose if u never cross 200, it will be open forever. but since mints are much cheaper now, 2 ppl could mint 100 each and quietly close the mint (⌒_⌒;)

That’s wack. Looks like custom contracts is still the way to go (‡▼益▼)
