The most common reason for the dreaded "Image failed to load" is a frame image >10MB. If you see frames from a specific site or marketplace that fail often, ask them to serve a high quality thumbnail instead of the raw asset image. We never render these larger than about 600x600px.

i think open graph maxes out at 8mb and recommends <5mb. ppl can/should also manually upload their own compressed thumbnail in sites like zora if they have large files :) that way they can control the quality of the thumbnail if they worry about how it will look in frame

oops actually this is not good advice (⌒_⌒;) for thumbnails i was actually thinking of non-image nfts like videos, html, etc. but optimizing images for the web is still important!

The second most common reason for the dreaded "Image failed to load" is probably non-image content types, so this is still good advice! Frame images must be JPG, PNG, or GIF. (Hoping to expand to a few more).
