i agree. catchall networks were a mistake. they can maybe work if the user takes active responsibility in their own feed but everything has been built to relieve ppl of the responsibility in the name of convenience, replacing decision making with algorithms

yes, yesterday during a talk on treasure hunt challenges there was the word funstration... and I think we removed a lot of that by outsourcing all the things to algorithms. Like imagine you'd have to tinker a bit to figure out how to make your feed the way you want it to be. In a similar vein building a website outside of the templated stuff. Or a presentation. A story without chatgpt haha I mean a lot of the most satisfying fun stuff is also hard.
