I'm starting to think that casting is similar to writing a newsletter post, in the sense that you don't want to write a boring cast. Just like you don't want to write a boring newsletter post. So you need to play with ideas until they resonate and feel "right", in whatever subjective form "right" takes on for you. This takes time, revision, and frustration.

I can definitely see that view taking hold. Especially if people want to aim for the power badge or otherwise build their reach. But as someone who's never been super at home building a niche IP on social media, it feels like entirely too much work. :P

I guess it depends on how serious and/or perfectionist people are when casting! I definitely align more with what you shared, but follow (and enjoy!) lots of people who cast more stream of consciousness-like.
