Don't know if it applies to you but the pattern is real. Of course there are still many libertarian bros who still pretend fossil fuels have no negative externalities because it conflicts with their ideology.

whether fossil fuels have negative externalities as a factual matter doesn’t naturally conflict with free market ideology. plenty of libertarians outwardly acknowledge fossil fuel impact and advocate for market-based mitigation like carbon pricing and carbon corrective taxes. reasonable minds differ on whether market-based solutions are adequate under a crony-capitalist society, but you don’t find libertarians arguing for fossil fuels subsidies either
