i’ve had a sealed pack of Parliament lights in my coffee table for months now. i imagine at one point i had meant to smoke them but i haven’t found the motivation to break the seal.

it occupies the place of a comfort object. reminder of how fluid our identities can be. how susceptible to Sartrean bad faith we are.

strength suggests resistance so that gives me more credit than is due! i don’t feel judgmental about them so i don’t prevent myself from them. they’re there in the first place for when/if i do crave them. there’s no strength in not taking something you don’t want anyway 🚬
