Wow to The Higher Running club and its members! Over 100 have joined the Strava run group. Ty @kugusha.eth Good luck as they take on the higher run challenge too! 6. Shoes a good secure fit. Not loose but definitely not too tight. They neednt be expensive. Esp for beginners - a great work horse is the Nike Pegasus and previous iterations the 39 and 40 should be available quite cheap. I ran in a 39 doing a 10k a day January 3 years ago - so I can vouch for them.
