Why is the appeal to first base necessary for a check swing ruling? If the batter went, call him out

Same with any other appeal. If one of the umpires saw the play for sure why do we have to appeal to a specific ump. Leaving early from third for example (not the best example but you get what I mean)

it’s weird how the catcher or pitcher needs to make an appeal and the home plate umpire needs to approve that before the first or third base umpire can make the call. 

just give me a robo ump to make all the calls. it’s faster, more accurate, and every stadium has enough cameras to do it all.
