thought dump in lieu of a journal:
- if a grocery story is playing mt joy or khruangbin, your wallet is cooked
- the rise of clipping farms and AI brainrot will give rise to a new class of human curators (aka people with taste that other people trust for their information diet; we already see this for a) playlists for music and b) newsletters for long-form text content)
- “until death, all defeat is psychological”
- one of the most incredible features of social media is how it lets us see that everyone’s life is so different and i don’t think we appreciate the beauty of that enough
- “loneliness in late adulthood is deadlier than smoking. indeed, once you’re over 65, you’re better off smoking, drinking, and overeating with your friends than you are sitting at home alone.”
- as we get older, friendships ebb and flow and relationships don’t always work out. that’s life, but what i find myself missing most (almost viscerally) are the shared routines: morning coffee, sunday dinners, etc. 29 replies
