Revisiting this 2022 post: Happened: Merge, L2s, Sort of: vertically-integrated DAO mobile wallet (FWB app closest), soulbbound / on-chain and off-chain credentials (EAS), Farcaster (technical, but still sub-scale) Not really: practical ZKP, a popular game https://danromero.org/excited-for-this-build-cycle.html

The issue with EAS is it relies on the trust triangle to be involved: 1. The issuer 2. Holder 3. Verified The issuer is the biggest bottleneck for growth in these systems. For credible attestations about identity or financial info, you need big institutions like a bank to add some code to their servers.

So EAS will work for app specific attestations, but getting real valuable attestations isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Also they don’t support selective disclosure. And they should use predicate triples for statements instead key/val pairs.

They do support selective disclosure with private attestations. Why do you think only big institutions can be trusted issuers?
