The issue with EAS is it relies on the trust triangle to be involved:

1. The issuer
2. Holder
3. Verified

The issuer is the biggest bottleneck for growth in these systems. For credible attestations about identity or financial info, you need big institutions like a bank to add some code to their servers.

I am also underwhelmed (so far), but I guess ur take is based on way more than just vibes. Best guess at your pov:
- EAS has not learned from the original sin of bitcoin, ethereum, etc.
- privacy is super hard to tack on later, technically is much better integrated as low in the stack/protocol as possible
